OFEngine sends email for password resets, purchase receipts, subscription reminders and notifications. Until you configure email, nothing reaches your users.
Set up SMTP
Section titled “Set up SMTP”Use a transactional email provider such as Amazon SES, Postmark, SendGrid or Mailgun. Each gives you SMTP credentials.
- In the admin panel, open the email settings.
- Choose SMTP as the mailer.
- Enter the SMTP host, port, username and password from your provider, plus the “from” address and name.
- Save, then send a test (for example, use “Forgot password” on a test account).
The sender name comes from your platform name, which you set in the admin panel.
Make sure email isn’t marked as spam
Section titled “Make sure email isn’t marked as spam”Add the DNS records your email provider asks for: usually SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Without them, many inboxes send your receipts and password resets to spam. Your provider’s dashboard lists the exact records to add at your domain registrar.
